Well, I’ve been talking about my big move to Osaka for months, but as is usually expected of me, I changed my mind at the last minute and decided on Kyoto instead. The decision feels real good and I’ll be able to practice Aikido with Okamoto Sensei from Portland, and I’ll be living in one of the coolest cities in the world. I put a deposit down on an apartment last week, and all I have to do after that is find a job. My new address, in case anyone wants to mail me something (after November 1st, that is) is

90, Gobo Omiya-cho, Takatsuji-dori Omiya Higashi iru, Shimogyo-ku, Kyoto Japan, 600-8385

I snapped these pictures from inside a bus back in August. We missed the last bus from Naruto to Kyoto, so we ended up catching a bus from Naruto to Kansai Airport and then a train from Kansai International to Kyoto. It was a huge waste of time and money, but we got to see this amazing and vast industrial district on Osaka Bay. It really made me feel that I had been transported to a William Gibson-esque sci-fi world.
